SLHI’s Technical Assistance Partnership, or TAP, has existed since 1997 with the idea to create and support coalitions between nonprofit agencies. However, in FY2014 TAP evolved into a portfolio of options for getting better together. This year saw the restructuring of TAP Talks, which are no longer the required start to a TAP Group. Offered now as stand-alone skill-building workshops, TAP Talks offer an opportunity for attendees to meet colleagues with common challenges and successes as they learn how to navigate issues facing the non-profit community.
For those who wish to work through a longer process of refining organizational procedures, TAP Groups were modified to help small teams focus on organizational issues facing the participants. SLHI offers this in-depth coaching and facilitation process over the course of three months for groups who want to share, network, troubleshoot and otherwise experience leaps in organizational growth. This process is tailored to groups who are highly committed to engaging with each other and with the Group Facilitator.
SLHI also recognized the need to serve individuals with severe time constraints who still want to learn about important topics that impact the health of their organization. With this in mind, TAPitos were created as mini-sessions for people to attend, offered ten times each year. Like TAP Talks, TAPitos are designed to foster organizational and professional development, but they are structured to do so in a very short period of time to accommodate the schedules of busy professionals.
